Garcinia Cambogia is a small fruit that looks just like a small size pumpkin. An extract from its fruit and rind has been used to prepare various products mainly for weight loss. This herb, which is mainly found in India and some parts of Asia, is believed to suppress appetite and enhance fat-burning due to the presence of hydroxycitric acid (HCA) in the extract. This is how it works - HCA inhibits an enzyme called citrate lyase that plays an important part in converting excess carbohydrates into fat, but when it is inhibited, the body burns the extra carbs. While animal studies have suggested reduced food intake and decrease in body fat, human trials have not been so conclusive.

Hoodia Gordonii is a water retaining plant, also known as a succulent, which grows without leafs. Being native to the south of Africa, it has been in use for an indeterminable amount of time as an appetite suppressant. It is very easily identifiable, because the flowers of this plant have a rotten meat odor. The ingredient of the plant which is responsible for the appetite suppressing effects has been named P57. It is a steroidal glycoside which seems to act directly to the central nervous system’s mechanisms and supposedly raises the content of adenosine triphosphate in brain by at least a half. The effects of P57 in trials were registered as capable to reduce food intake by some fifty per cent on a daily basis.

Some Unknown Ingredients, which is a common practice for many supplement manufacturers. They use ineffective common ingredients and trademark their name for them to disguse the actual low quality ingredient contained.
